DecoArt American Dream

IMG_2994.JPG

When I was 13 years old I won a writing contest with a story I called ‘American Dream’. Not to go into details, but the piece I wrote was a bit on the dark side. But at 13, so was I. Now, here I am, many many years later with another ‘American Dream’ creation. This one is a happier version of the American Dream. I created this mixed media collage to celebrate DecoArt’s 34th Birthday as part of their 1st Annual Patriotic Contest and my role as a DecoArt Outreach Blogger.

DecoArt was launched as a company in May of 1985 and I have been using their products consistently ever since. I began with their acrylic craft paints and have now incorporated their wonderful line of DecoArt Media products to my art supply lineup!

I hope you enjoy this quick photo turorial and are inspired to create your own work of stars and stripes and vintage Americana.

Adhere torn vintage book papers to a board or canvas using DecoArt Matte Medium. Randomly add DecoArt Black Gesso over the collaged paper.
